Voice Opening - For anyone at the beginning of their journey of forming a deeper relationship with their voice - For folks interested in opening their voice for their private practice of somatic healing work, inside of intoning or chant or prayer - For experienced singers who want to work with what is at core of their sound and uncover more of their authentic voice - For folks who want to tonify their voice and way of sound making to be able to join in strongly with community group singing - For everyone. These lessons are highly somatic and will contain a lot of you listening to your sound and sensations / vibrations in your body, with both your ears and your hands. We will work through basic sound production, disconnecting from whatever your body automatically does when you tell it to ‘sing,’ and move through breath work and embodied tone. The lessons will be done with sensitivity to any emotional wounds you carry around singing, hopefully working together to form new memory and build a very strong present ongoing relationship with your body and voice.

creative coaching - a place for topics that lean in a direction different than the repertoire-and-technique-based sessions. I’ve worked with folks on ‘playing’ or minimal improvisation inSIDE OF TRADITIONAL music, and non-performance aspects of music too, best practices and insights around cultural memory, folk process, dance connections with this music, form. It can be a deep dive into an area that you may want to research more. Artistic Development.

Students are able to book and schedule lessons on their own via the calendar below, and are invited to choose a schedule that best meets their desires and goals. One-off sessions, once every two weeks, once a week, four times a year - all great additions to your musical work and investments in yourself. I invest my energy to make sure that you have something really quality to take home from every session, no matter what the regularity.
